Ingredients

For the Steak and Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz (340g) fettuccine or your favorite pasta
  • Salt for boiling water

For the Cream Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Steak:

    • Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper.
    • In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add the steak pieces and cook until browned and cooked to your desired doneness (about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp:

    • In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter.
    • Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Add the minced garlic in the last minute of cooking. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Make the Cream Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
    • Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
    • Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and season with salt and pepper to taste.
    • Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Combine Everything:

    • Add the cooked pasta, steak, and shrimp back into the skillet with the cream sauce. Toss to coat everything evenly in the sauce.
    • Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  6. Serve:

    • Divide the pasta among serving plates.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the steak in your favorite marinade for a few hours before cooking.
  • Add some vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes to the pasta for extra color and nutrition.
  • Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding more chicken broth if needed.
